Noctis Botanica is a homegrown ritual fragrance studio rooted in the shadowed charm of Southern Gothic lore. Each offering is crafted with reverence—using clean, eco-conscious ingredients and scent blends steeped in the haunted beauty of decaying gardens, candlelit parlors, and the lingering hush of forgotten stories. Let every flicker summon the veil, where memory and myth entwine.
In the shadowed foothills of Maryville, Tennessee, where the mist clings low and stories settle deep in the soil, each Noctis Botanica candle, wax melt, and fragrance is conjured by hand in small, deliberate batches. We craft with intention—drawing on sustainable materials, slow methods, and a devotion to beauty that endures. This is candle-making as ritual, rooted in ethics, mystery, and moonlight.
Our candles and fragrances are available online, at curated in-person markets throughout the South, and exclusively stocked at Crimson Curiosities, a boutique for the uncanny and the rare. Follow us on social media for market schedules, new releases, and glimpses behind the veil.
We use luxury 100% natural coconut, sunflower and apricot blends to create a clean-burning, eco-friendly candle. Our waxes are free from paraffin, phthalates, and other harmful additives.
No. While some essential oils might seem appealing for scented candles, they are often not ideal due to poor scent throw, potential for unpleasant odors when burned, and the fact that they are not designed for candle use.
Poor Scent Throw:
Many essential oils degrade or burn off quickly when exposed to the heat of a candle flame, resulting in little to no scent.
Unpleasant Odors:
Some essential oils, when heated, can produce an unpleasant or even "burnt" scent, which can be a disappointing experience.
Not Designed for Candle Use:
Essential oils are not formulated for use in candles and may not mix well with candle wax, leading to uneven fragrance distribution or even greasy residue.
Flammability and Safety:
Some essential oils are highly flammable and can pose a fire hazard when used in candles.
Cost:
Essential oils are much more expensive than fragrance oils, making them a less cost-effective option for creating scented candles.
Fragrance Oils are Better Suited:
Fragrance oils are specifically formulated for use in candles and are designed to withstand heat and provide a strong, long-lasting scent
